vhsmbdm Posted December 28, 2008 Share Posted December 28, 2008 Don't know if you ever saw the retreat video on that site that shall not be named....but when Cavies' placement was announced, members wielding the prop swords were going through the ranks "executing" various members....presumably for taking 3rd and "dishonoring" the corps (remember the show theme)It was funny once you realized what was happening.... Just wanted to clarify; the "executions" occurred after The Blue Devils had been named in second place. I personally think the idea was funny. A light hearted response to a fellow Illinois corps finally winning a title completely for themselves. Someone should correct me if I'm wrong, but I assume George was talking to the "dead" cavalier because he had entered into the Cadets' rank without permission. Side note: I really enjoyed it when Bruno led the boys down the 50 to pass by Phantom and express their congratulations. Kinda wish they would have played "Rainbow" for them, (ala Phantom playing "Elsa's Procession to the Cathedral" to the Cavies in '06), but alas, we can't always get what we want. Eventually, they started overstepping their bounds. Funny, I thought the Cavaliers usually start playing with their swords WAY before retreat. Isn't that part of their initiation ritual?
