Good luck Sara Or picking where you know the instructor(s) isn't a bad idea Wish I would of had (or really knew) that option, I would of done DCI with one instructor I know. shostahoosier
I almost wish there was a forum or sticky for these questions (along with Famous Drum Corps People, Star Returns, What should new people know for tour, what music should corps play/not play, etc.)...they are really common. Not discouraging these posts...just a central place might help with bandwidth The easiest corps to make next year will probably be the corps that: 1) Placed the lowest 2) Has the least number of returning members 3) Has the lower tour fees 4) ...is in an area that makes recruiting difficult You would really be surprised by the level of talent in even the most competitive corps. Lets just say there can be a "range" in performance levels. Not a huge one, but definitely something you can notice sometimes.

If you're shooting for a corps that has a lot of returning vets it's going to be tough.
TheClutch
He's already marching a corps... the DCA variety. Edit: Look for spots in a DCI corps this year. Depending on your instrument, they're out there. You have your whole life to do DCA.

Hey Sara....I'm going to DCI next year too. Where are you planning to try out? I'm considering Bluecoats, Troopers, Spirit, Jersey Surf. Thats some of the corps that arent that far from us=P Maybe we will end up going to the same corps?
