Matt_S
I have a pretty good set of finalists here: one show per corps, and for me these six clearly stand out from the rest. 1993 Star of Indiana 1998 Santa Clara Vanguard 2001 The Cadets 2003 The Cavaliers 2004 Blue Devils 2006 Phantom Regiment Every time I think I've made up my mind, I think 'wait, what about this show?' So let's see if can narrow it down: - Star 1993 was a landmark production, but it's going to get plenty of votes even without my help, so that's out. - Cadets 2001 is one of my favorite shows from that corps, but as brilliantly as Moondance and Vide cor Meum worked on the field, I have the same complaint as I did for Phantom 1993, that perhaps the four selections are dissimilar enough that the show isn't quite as cohesive as others on this list - 1998 Santa Clara was tremendous, but while being nominated into my top six is an honor, it's missing that extra something that it takes to win my vote - 2003 Cavaliers is ridiculously underrated, for two reasons I think. One: it didn't win yet was sandwiched between five Cavaliers shows that did, undoubtedly influencing our perception of just how strong a show it was. Two: it's a show that only clicks into that upper tier when you're watching the entire product - you need to see the visual at the same time as you're listening to the music to truly see what a complete product this is - and few people I think take the time to do that. While I think all four of those shows are truly great, none of those shows on the entire list affected me as strongly as Blue Devils 2004 and Phantom 2006. So it comes down to those two. And between the two of them, I just have to go with the show that affected the most when as saw it live. As strong as Phantom was by Finals, they left me flat in Kalamazoo that year. Meanwhile, Blue Devils 2004 simply blew me away in Indy from the very moment their show began. I can count on one hand the number of shows that have been able to accomplish that, and none of the others finished in second place. Blue Devils 2004 gets my vote. LancerLegend
27th They were the blue collar drum corps of DCI. Some good years and some not-so-good years - but they always came back with a big heart for their audience. And they didn't disappear after 1980. This vote won't get it for them - it's been too long since they expired.

kstein
Got to go with 93 Star...but a HUGE HM to 1980 27th Lancers. Their performance in Allentown the week earlier is still the single best drum corps performance I have ever seen. Karen
