weedyweidenthal
Glendale, AZNaperville, IL Madison (Middleton), WI and maybe even Dubuque, IA (when the site is announced) Madison, Wisconsin!?!?!?! I hear you owe a guy from that area a Coke! ;) -Weedy
Bevinator
Texas high schools are also ending later so the facility they are using probably wasn't available.
kansasDC
Leaving tomorrow right after work for Blue Stars move-in in Indy. I'm planning to do a lot of driving in traffic due to the Indy 500 festivities. Safe travels, everyone!
IllianaLancerContra
Same amount of spring training time as last year - the first show's a week later. I remember when first show was first weekend in June. And back then if you didn't have a complete show (that is the full 11.5-13 minutes w/ drill, not all the GE added later) you were stigmatized for the whole season... You want to try and teach a whole bunch of kids from around the country to learn a complete 12-minute show before the first weekend of June when they, at the VERY earliest, get out of school around that time, with >75% not getting out until the second or third or even last week of June? I mean, I understand your complaint, but there's a lot of different factors that go into it. It's not all DCI's, or the corps', or the members' fault. I know I am a dinosaur, but back in the day when 90+% of the members were local, they could do that I know that era is gone, but there were a lot more corps then than there are now. Time to go take my medication...

kaplac
A large majority of Northwest schools get out mid-june. Cascades move in on June 14th and Oregon Crusaders on the 17th. For this reason both corps miss out on about a week of all-days and the the first two weeks of tour.

My son's last day of school is today. And move-in is Friday. He gets exactly 53 hours of "summer vacation". His first day back in school is three days after finals. I only really know Texas and the Mid-Atlantic/New England, and both of those areas don't get out until around mid-June. For the Crossmen that covers both their current home and their past home (where there are still some members), making it a big deal.
