BRASSO
I don't think this poll outcome was meant to detract from Bridgemen, AK, Suncoast, but there was this certain SOMETHING about the Kilties, they were pure drum corps, undiluted--'75 or '69 or '74 or '65--when the Kilties were at the show you KNEW you were in the right place at the right time! Their arrangements were world class (Ives?!!) their look meant "you'll be needin' to get out of our way, thanks" and their feel was classy and they had everyone's respect. (usually!) Just so fun to watch and they were soooo cool for so long. I bet that's what people want back. The Kilties still perform... still compete....they still play some of their classics....they still wear the same uniforms..... it's all still available. You just have to look a little harder apparently. But the Kilties are still with us doing what they did 30-40 years ago and competing still ( DCA ). They don't " need to be brought back " it seems to me. They're still with us to still enjoy. Edited August 3, 2009 by BRASSO
jplattSCV
So I'm guessing that everyone thinks that because it was the Bluecoats that won the audience vote there is no credibility in the VolcanoScores, but I'm sure if BD had won it would be totally legit? No, I promise that its just the name. Bluecoats being loved is a good thing. No corps bashing here. What it the world is VolcanoScore supposed to mean anyway? CasualFan
with Madison and Boston tied for 2nd.gotta love it. Actually SCV, Madison and Boston tied for 2nd. BD tied with Preston Scout for 5th place. This is not much different from the Spirit of Disney Award which is voted on by certain audience members. tommyfromhowardst
The poll was a cool and novel idea!BTW Kilties 1975 had some really hot music and playing. Put Kilts '75 with Madison '75...where did they get all those great brass players in one state? We could add Blue Star in there too. I like the way you think Mr. Hall! Cardman
They weren't the crowd favorite. They were the favorite of the people that bothered to vote. Oh, and I love Bluecoats show this year, for the most part.

Oh, and I love Bluecoats show this year, for the most part. That's kind of like saying that Obama is only the President of those that bothered to vote. Care to tell us who the REAL crowd favorite was?
