DCASouth
Two weeks ago in Antioch, Tn. the DCA-South Corps' met in the Music City Legend sponsored, MUSIC CITY METAL III , and the show lived up to the hype and went beyond the expectations. The 3 Open Class DCA-South Corps, came OUT shooting from the hip and performing on all cylinders for Region Supremecy. When the smoke cleared, Atlanta CorpsVets continued to sit at the top the the DCA-South mountain, but Music City Legend and Alliance both let them know that they are going to pull out ALL the stops to try and take em down. The excitement of the night was unbelievable Not to be outdone by their Open Class brethern, Sun Devils and Shenandoah Sound have shown progress from previous shows and are looking to let some of the veteran Class A corps' know that they will be right in the fight for a finalist position in Rochester The last big push prior to DCA Championships takes place this weekend as the Atlanta CorpsVets host their annual "DRUM CORPS ROCKS THE SOUTH" contest on Saturday Aug 22. beginning at 7:30pm. All the Region corps have been working hard over the last few weeks, tweaking drill. adding new visuals, cleaning, and are ready to move up that DCA ladder. CV, MCL and Alliance all have their main focus set on obtaining or retaining finalist positions come Rochester. Rockmart will be the show that they let the DCA world know this is the best of the South and are looking to upset and knockout some of the current finalist corps. Saturday night in Rockmart, should be a high flying, tension filled night as they all perform for their seeding score as well as fight to see who will reign in the South, as MCL and Alliance try to knock off CV on their home turf. Can they do it??? All are preprared to slug it out to the end like champion prize fighters and CorpsVets are NOT ready to give it up! And of course our Class A representatives,Sun Devils and Shenandoah Sound, continue to improve and show what they have, as they jockey for their Class A prelim seedings position. So if you want to see the excitement of the 2009 DCA-South , come to Rockmart on Saturday night. But be prepared for a slugfest worth the price of admission. and what will be one of the best contests the South has ever seen.
