2009 DCA Prelims Show - Live Thread

Recommended Posts

This is a tough book to play, both for horns and percussion.

Guard member just did some double saber work before tossing one to a fellow guard member.

Nice job by the mello soloist to start the second piece.

This is more of a direct interpretation of the Millennium music than what Cadets did, less cuts from the book.

As soon as I say that, they do something totally different than what was in the original.

Mello and trumpet soloist, very nice job to close out the second piece.

Drum line opens third piece, back to the Millennium music.

Horns march very well. Great posture, horn snaps are tight and clean.

Lot of dirt in the drum solo. Half the pit just came out onto the field with cymbals, just for the drum solo.

Why do the flags have atom symbols on them?

Another drum break as we kick up the tempo and move into the closer. Again using source music directly from the original.

It was good, but I don't feel like the show was memorable. I'm not sure they're finalist caliber this year.
