Puppet
I don't know if it has clocked as the fastest, but the end of Belshazzar (Star 1990) sure SEEMED to be the fastest I've ever seen. That was my first thought. Puppet
Lance
Didn't 05 Cadets move quickly pretty consistently for a lot of their show?
JamMan
We have to start taking length of time while marching fast into account.
doogiempt
Cadets 05 tempos: (someone correct me if my memory is wrong on these) Kill Bill - 198 (the brass in the back), 132, 176 Liquid - 196 Dancer - 76 Machine - 220 Mirrors - 178, 200 I think Cadets 07 should get some sort of recognition for our sustained fast tempos: Symphonic Movement - 172 Blue Shades - 178 Adiemus -
3rd_Star_Brigade
I think the finale to Belshazzar (Maybe Images?) was about 220 bpm.

Room_101
Cavaliers 2001 and 2007 come to mind for me. From what I've heard, 2001 had some incredibly quick parts for lengthy periods of time (and also with huge step sizes!). I believe the overwhelming majority of the show was over 200 bpm. That being said, they did have a "slow ballad" that year, which I'm sure gave them a bit of a rest--but not for very long! A friend of mine that marched 2007 said that it was the hardest show he'd ever had to march, from 2004 to 2009. I guess it started off right at 200, then to 208, with the second movement at something like 192. Third movement was back to 200, fourth movement was 186, and then the fifth movement was 200, with the finale at 208. What apparently made this show even more difficult was the lack of a "slow movement." Apparently any slow tempi were marched double-time, hence the high tempo all the way throughout. No thanks. I'll sit down all summer, thank you very much. Edited November 2, 2009 by Room_101
