Rusty
Yeah, just sample the sound you want! I was showing Phantom '08 to a friend. A bit of background on this particular acquaintance: while I have been his first exposure to drum corps, he's no stranger to performing arts (was a big theater geek in high school, plays piano, sings in choir with me). His question immediately after that metallic scrape during one of the murders: "Do they use synthesizers?" Anybody can get a synthesizer to do what they want, as the musically savvy know quite well. But to rely on unorthodox means and your own wits to accomplish your objective - that takes innovation. Or it used to, anyway. /pithylittlerant
BozzlyB
Unfortunately with synths, creativity takes a hit. Welcome to the age of the easy button.

corpsreps
The one in the ballad was a chime scrape and the one in the beginning was a piece of metal pipe and a garden hoe.
crfrey71
The one in the ballad was a chime scrape and the one in the beginning was a piece of metal pipe and a garden hoe. Ah Chris! The garden hoe is what they got at Ace hardware then.

fourouttheforty
and the one in the beginning was a piece of metal pipe and a garden hoe. Garden tools are not drum corps. I'm never going to another show again, keep garden tools out of drum corps!
