84skyrydr
DCI is producing this show and ticket sale numbers are their data to release or not release. What we know as an organizing committee is exactly what was stated: ticket sales are going really well! I think the best evidence of that is going to the online system and seeing what's available. There are no pairs of tickets available in the middle four sections although you can still get some good single tickets if you want.Hope you make the trip! I hope so too, and I really hope you guys sell out. What a show line up from top to bottom, and a beautiful city to have it in. Surprised DCI never held a championship there. Sorry if my post seemed directed at the hosts of the show, I just notice that same statement alot without ever hearing what the numbers really were. Would be interesting to know. they relelase it at all major league events and DCI is the major league of marching. good luck.
84skyrydr
I'm hoping there will be even more people than expected at DCI Minnesota. I wrote a few general-audience articles about the show, which should attract some casual fans as well as bring out hardcore fans from the woodwork, in today's Minneapolis Star Tribune. The online versions are here:Top drum corps march into town: An unprecedented 23 marching-and-music ensembles are competing Saturday at TCF Bank Stadium as part of a national tour Made in Minnesota: Homegrown drum corps have members of all ages You be the judge: 5 things to look for at Saturday's show I make no excuses for the online editor who "corrected" "corps" to "corp." ;-) Very nice work, you guys in MN seem to have brought your A game to this competition. Northern Thunder
Surprised DCI never held a championship there. The previous Minneapolis/St. Paul venues didn't match up with DCI timelines in the past, since the Metrodome was basically off-limits for the summer months when the Twins were still playing there. Now the Twins have their own outdoor stadium, and the TCF Bank Stadium also came onto the scene.
AlexL
Surprised DCI never held a championship there. Could this be a good trial run for that 'off year' where we dont have Lucas Oil Booked (or if we pulled out of there entirely at some point)? I think Minneapolis could be a great city to hold finals in.
corpsband
For those of you joining us from out of town (and well, for those in town as well!) be aware that (besides the weather) the only thing the organizing committee has not be able to iron out ahead of time are road closures due to construction I'd say you might have bigger problems to iron out !! Looks like those guys better get busy
