In 1997, the Kilties commandeered a microbrewery and bottled up a sizable batch of Mad Plaid Ale. It was a successful fundraiser selling the suds for most of the season. At DCA, the Kilties stayed at the same motel as the New York Skyliners. Which totally depleted the supply. A few T-shirts with the beer label were printed up, the only remaining souvenir of this historic and noble brew.
