CoHmempho04
Crown at 15 means that they've made finals 75% of the time, for a corps that was created in 1990, that's amazing. Didn't Crown start in Div II? Edited August 20, 2010 by CoHmempho04
N.E. Brigand
Turning briefly to Semifinals. First, corps of the past 20 years that reached Semifinals but not Finals: Three peaked at 13th place: The Academy (2007), Dutch Boy (1991), and Southwind (2000). Two peaked at 14th: Capital Regiment (2004) and Kiwanis Kavaliers (1996 and 1997). One peaked at 15th: Les Etoiles Dorion Vandreuil (1996). Three peaked at 16th: Academie Musicale (1997), Mandarins (2001), and Pioneer (2000). And three peaked at 17th: Marauders (1992), Pacific Crest (2003, 2007, and 2008), and Vanguard Cadets (2000). Most Semifinals appearances without reaching Finals: Southwind with five (1995, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2005). And this is interesting--highest and lowest Semifinals scores by rank over the past 20 years: 13th -- Spirit -- 2004 -- 86.300 13th -- Blue Knights -- 1995 -- 81.300 14th -- Colts -- 2008 -- 85.175 14th -- Kiwanis Cavaliers -- 1996 -- 79.200 15th -- Colts -- 2002 -- 83.900 15th -- Velvet Knights -- 1995 -- 74.700 16th -- Carolina Crown -- 2002 -- 81.800 16th -- Boston Crusaders -- 1995 -- 74.400 17th -- Crossmen -- 2010 -- 80.900 17th -- Southwind -- 1995 -- 71.900 At every Semifinalist position, 1995 and 1996 are among the lowest three scores. Bad years for Semifinals performances? Or were the judges stingy those years?
