To borrow from another thread, matched grip for snare drums is "bando."

A part of my died when I saw SCV playing with matched grip in '94 or '95.

I agree it doesn't look as good but is certainly isn't bando. SCV won a couple of high drum awards with matched grip. :thumbup:

Silly.... I'm always right. :tongue::angel1: Of Course if you read through my posts in this thread you will have read that my first year marching we wore slings. That makes me kinda old so I'm not going to change my mind on this. :thumbup:

Just to really confuse you guys I'll submit that tilted snares with matched grip works really well - but you can only do it with a good old pair of DC10s. :thumbup:

Find the recordings of 27th Lancers from 1984. You should be able to get part of the part that died back. Esp if you can find John Blair's field tape from that year, in South Carolina.
