skek64
The Long Island Sunrisers enjoyed a very successful 2011 Open House. Held in their brand new home at Brentwood High School, Sonderling Building, the corps was well represented in all captions: Brass, Percussion and even a few members of the Color Guard who were gladly received by Caption Head Tracy Bapst. The Brass section enjoyed a brief ensemble rehearsal lead by Caption Head Joe Sitler, along with the same in percussion led by Caption Head Jayson Mckenna and all were well organized and informative to the members which consisted of returnees from last years corps that did not field and new members who were very excited to start their way back to a promising 2011 season. The Management team led by Director Gary Williams and Business Manager Nat Mazyck, were extremely excited with the attitude and positive spirit of the members and staff as well. All went well without a hitch and was also attended by a group of very happy alumni who were very pleased to see their drum corps make a extremely positive attempt at a comeback year. Not wanting to leave anyone out, the alumni will not be named here, but were also instrumental in the exciting attitude of the younger members of the 2011 Sunrisers. The next rehearsal will be held on December 11th, 2011, where the corps will start learning their 2011 program of Les Misérables which will be played in Bb. See you on December 11th with rehearsal beginning at 11:00 AM. All new members are asked to remember their registration fee of $10.00 which as stated is a one time fee, also if you have a Bb instrument, you are asked to bring it to the next rehearsal. Have a happy two weeks and we look forward to welcoming even newer members at the next gathering.

TomPeashey
wow... Tracy is back at it? The pride of Rochester Patriots is tremendously talented - and of course was a featured guard member in both Crossmen and Cadets... But her true claim to fame came from some of the great Patriot winter guards... who can forget some of her antics... if you saw the guard do something weird and delightfully entertaining - Tracy Bapst was not far away... Well okay Howard - guess I'll have to get my clarinet out of the closet... any Bb instrument? You're going to get Tenor Saxes and ..... but okay... glad to hear things are going so well... I don't think Tracy ever really gave it up......she has been with the Copiague HS Marching Band on Long Island for the past 3 or 4 years (Thanks to Bruce McCready and Donnie Allen). She now lives on Long Island and is also a substitute teacher in the Copiague School district. I had the pleasure of working with her this past year, for the last 3 weeks of the season at Copiague HS. She is truly an amazing talent! Bill Stalzer
You're so right Frank. I saw her for the first time at the Sunrisers open house, and she was working the guard hard. Anyone who comes under her tuledge will be lucky.
