Interesting, Mike. Has the aftermarket finishing continued to be a player now that companies are offering custom finishes direct from the factory?

From what I've seen, it looks like in recent years the factory finishes are more for DCI lines, while aftermarket lines tend to be more independent and collegiate / scholastic groups. Of course this is all anecdotal - no numbers to back it up.

Also, FYI, Yamaha and Pearl have networks set up to sell used DCI lines once they're retired. Yamaha puts out notices to all of their dealers, and Pearl has drum stores they use as middlemen. Dynasty does it more direct-from-the-company. I'm guessing Ludwig will start doing some version of this as well.
