The Other Mike
INT's problem is financial. 1. They really need amps. At some shows the horn line and drum line volume is ppp. It sounds like they're a 1/4 mile away. At some shows you can't hear them at all. Amps would fix this problem. Considering the show title this year "Lots of Fun", I think they are doing very well. After years of watching fans leave the stands to go to the lot to watch warm ups, INT has brought the warm ups to the field. While visually it's nothing great to see, the horns and drums do a fantastic job at imitating the warms up of the corps that comes on after them. They get difficulty points with the fact that they can change their show from night to night depending on who goes on after them. Sure, the 1st minute of the show is always the same opening with "8 on a hand" but it quickly changes. And, it's great how they have managed to use the metronome throughout their show. The distant sound the horns and drums get is amazing, however, they is always the problem with never hearing the pit. As far as souvies, they sell souvies of who comes on after them and seem to do a great job of this as well. When INT leaves the field you can see how much the fans appreciate they show as the cheer and call out the name of the corps they just imitated. The poor rookies just don't understand being booed when they precede Bluecoats. By the way, I heard rumors that next years show might be " Metro Gnomes" Many of the vets really miss touring with the Snappets and their 40 foot BBQ in the rear........... noneofyourbusiness
INT originated 2 years ago when we had the shows from Fan Network live and we could comment here on DCP. DCP posters would comment about each Corps show by twittering directly from the show, or we would comment about it here from the live feed. On one occasion we got a message that simply said " INT ". It was posted on the DCI website, and of course all our Fan Network screens went blank during " INT ". Some poster than came on DCP and said that their screen was blank during " INT " and asked " what ( or who ) is INT ? ". Well, that was all that was needed. I came on and mentioned that " INT " was a " very dark show " from a Corps that is typically in the middle of the pack at most competitions, that it takes a couple of viewings to fully appreciate all that is happening at " INT ", and further nonsense ( or creativity if you prefer). Somebody then came on and said that " INT" was their " hot dog Corps ", someone else said that " INT " never fails to get fans up and out of their seats", ... It became a standing joke ( or irritant ) after this, and we got into INT food and concession analogies, a few others got angry at " INT ", and INT jokes, others then chuckled at the INT " haters" and by that point we were now quickly off to the races with the " INT " double entendres silliness. So thats INT's history in a nutshell. OH, SO IT'S YOUR FAULT!!!!!!!!!!!! (jk )
bluecoats88
The main reason INT will never win is they consistently get screwed over by performance order. Regardless of how well they are doing each year they are always relegated to going on in the middle of the show and the judges inevitably need to leave room for the corps performing after them which always keeps INT's score just under the top corps. Until they can get this scheduling glitch taken care of they will always be a middle of the pack corps no matter how good they are.
