kevingamin
Nice bluesy quartet of trumpets to start the show. Love the rotating wheel formations with the horns, guard, and drums on the field, too. Ohh, opening set is an old style movie projector and the rotating parts are the film! Neat!

skimannc1
Pioneer was pretty good and improved over lsat year from a design standpoint. Ned to clean visual a lot playing was not too bass for a small highpoint. Percussion is a strong point. Guard was ok just need numbers. Keep working pioneer. kevingamin
I get that Spirit's trying to evoke old school gumshoe movies, but the vocal effects are a little too corny for a show about film noir. So are the eerie synth effects. The corps is way too talented for those kinds of distractions.
kevingamin
Horns have a great sound. Mellos wail on the last note of the opener!
kevingamin
Mello soloist to start the second piece. Lady in red has arrived.
kevingamin
Now for the fun part: Harlem Nocturne. This is a fun arrangement. Nice bari feature to start, although they have to rip that opening line a little cleaner. Yeah, baby, Spirit is back.
kevingamin
Nice drum break, crowd was into it. Park and blow with the horns in a huge arc, guard up front adding a lot of color.

kevingamin
Stadium is filled with the final note of Harlem. Crowd approves.
