skimannc1
Can't wait to see Madison. I have a former student marching with them. Also finally get to hear the end of the show.
kevingamin
OK, Cavies staff member just called "TOP OF TUNE!", looks like we can catch some rehearsal on that uStream channel.
kevingamin
Madison is now coming down the ramp. Intermission will soon be interrupted by the exact opposite.
kevingamin
Next on the field are the Madison Scouts from Madison, Wisconsin. Their 2011 program is entitled New York Morning and consists of: New York, New York (from On the Town) by Bernstein, Leonard Oh What a Beautiful Morning from Oklahoma by Rodgers, Richard; Hammerstein, Oscar Amazon New York Mourning by Smith, Robert W. Requiem by Smith, Robert W. Empire State of Mind by Keyes, Alicia
kevingamin
Corps starts off in groups of tight circle formations, most with a guard member in the middle. Snare circle bursts open to allow the opening tuba soloist. Remaining circles open and the guard members appear carrying newspapers.

kevingamin
Love the variation on last year's opening moves. Great tie in while introducing this years' show. Snares now up front, followed by tenors, then basses. Guard on rifles and newspapers. How often do you get to write that?
kevingamin
Hard to write about this show because I keep getting drawn in. Great horn sound!
kevingamin
A lot of echo from this horn line, too. Great projection and tuning. Not sure why the guys in the suite with me feel the need to have a conversation throughout this show. Can't complain, though, since they're drivers and work their tails off.
