Just don't call them late for practice (sorry, rehearsal).

By definition, ALL drum corps ARE bands; just not all bands are drum corps.

I know when one thing for sure. When " I " hear the phrase " Bugle Band ". The Very First thing I Think of is.

The most famous of them all, "Scout House Bugle Band" Preston, Ontario, Canada.

Ever since they were announced at the first, "Preview of Champions" (that I attended) in Roosevelt Stadium, Jersey City, NJ in 1962. I don't know if it was their, Style, Uniforms, or Sound. But, don't think Anyone had problem with them being called that. Even us Now:Old, Crusty, Traditionalist. Maybe they were not going to win. Going up against Corps like Garfield, BS Golden Knights, St. Kevin's and the like. BUT, everyone seemed to Love them (and still do with the Alumni Corps).

When they start using bugles again. Right now they are all just bands. Not that this is a bad thing...

If I recall correctly, South Africa in particular, in certain countries on the African continent drum corps are called drum and bugle bands (or something similar) simply because the term "corps" is a word that is associated with the military; and being thought to be associated with the military in that area of the world sometimes is not a good thing.
