I was thinking this myself. That is some of the craziest drill I've seen, and for them to not have injuries very often is a heck of a testament to their skill. Brass seems to be having timing issues all over tonight. edit: Great sound when it's together, though. This is without doubt the most technically demanding show of the year. They are spread from endzone to endzone while playing a technically demanding book. You might want to consider sitting higher in the stands for the full effect. I heard none of the timing issues that you mentioned. If the Blue Devils bother to use the entire field instead the elbow to elbow block rotations they do every year you might perceive them to have "timing issues" too. EDIT....
