kevingamin
Crest opens strong with audience reaction from the first hit. Nice roar after the opening statement of True Colors finishes.
emc2
Yep, weather is indeed great. I'm up in the press box now, side 2, just outside the 45 yard. Pioneer is already in action. I got in the stadium just in time. One effect of being in the box with closed windows is that the lower brass sound gets absorbed a little. As a result, upper brass is more exposed. I am hearing a few issues as a result that I may not have heard otherwise. Thanks for play by play Kevin.
CLD
And Yellow by Coldplay Get it PC!
kevingamin
This first selection after the opening statement has a little wackiness to it. Nice job by the trumpet soloist on the True Colors snippet. Now the full trumpet section gets to show off their technique. This has a British brass band feel. Is this the Peter Graham piece?
kevingamin
Excellent start to the show. Now for the section people have been talking about: Yellow by Coldplay.
kevingamin
Backfield interlude of True Colors. Now that lovely flugelhorn solo playing the Yellow melody.
kevingamin
Lovely low brass sound during this ballad. Really adding to the emotion of the piece.
kevingamin
Double yellow flags in the guard, changing hue from pastel yellow by the endzone to an orangish yellow at the 50. Lone guard member now holding a blue umbrella as we move into that section. Duh, the Graham piece is named The Red Machine, OF COURSE it's the opener! kevingamin
Full guard now on umbrella. Corps now into a shout section, which the crowd likes.
kevingamin
Nice big chord to end the blue section of the show. Pit interlude of True Colors before the drum line picks up the tempo. Guard now in the colors of the rainbow.
