ShortAndFast
Here's an old list from DCP, and we can fill in the missing ones. It looks like there are 2 4-peats: Star 1990-1993, BD 1979-1982. BD, Garfield and Madison also have 3-peats. 2013 - Crown 2012 - Crown 2011 - Crown 2010 - BD 2009 - Crown 2008 - BD 2007 - BD 2006 - Cavaliers 2005 - Cadets 2004 - BD 2003 - BD 2002 - Cavaliers 2001 - BD 2000 - Cadets 1999 - BD 1998 - BD 1997 - BD 1996 - Phantom 1995 - Scouts/BD/Cadets 1994 - BD 1993 - BD/Star 1992 - Star 1991 - BD/Star 1990 - Star 1989 - Phantom 1988 - BD 1987 - SCV/Cadets 1986 - BD 1985 - BD/Garfield 1984 - BD/SCV/Garfield 1983 - Cadets 1982 - BD 1981 - BD 1980 - BD 1979 - BD 1978 - Phantom 1977 - BD 1976 - BD 1975 - Madison Scouts 1974 - Madison Scouts 1973 - Madison Scouts 1972 - Anaheim Kingsmen Edited August 11, 2013 by ShortAndFast
ShortAndFast
A quick glance at fromthepressbox.com says this is the first 20 in brass. '02 Cavies got 20 in Mus Ensemble, but not brass. BD did indeed get a 20.0 in brass at prelims 2004.
N.E. Brigand
I am also sure that Albert Lo appreciates calling him a she! I knew who tonight's judge was, but deliberately used "she" to emphasize that I was making a general point and not a comment on Crown's brass.

I loved their brass program this year so much (as well as last year's, but the staff learned when to turn it down a bit). SUCH an incredible brassline these past few years though, and had their second chance not fallen so flat they'd have a 5-peat by now :)
Minimaster
BD got a 20 in brass in 2004 quarterfinals, if I'm remembering correctly. http://www.fromthepressbox.com/20040805div1quarterfinals.htm yep, found it. njthundrrd
Just a reminder that the maximum score is not necessarily a "perfect" score. If a judge thinks corps A is better than corps B to whom she has given a 19.9, even if corps A makes a mistake, she has to give them a 20.0. A 20.0 is a 20.0 and nobody can diminish or take that away from Crown's hornline. They set a new standard. period.

It boggles my mind that DCI doesn't have a web page with the list of historical caption award winners.
