drummer5485
We had a bunch of guys do it every year that I marched, never seemed to affect our performance during finals week...
JamesKPolk
Cadets are famous for not competing in I&E. I'm sure more will compete next year. System Blue and the Performer's Showcase people will try and find a way for it to be more available to the general Drum Corps populace. 84BDsop
Hop and staff (and other corps staffs that take this stance) have said that it's a championship-week distraction and energy-drainer that is not consistent with putting the corps as a whole first when they're trying to max out the show and enjoy a last few days all together. Funny....seems to work for BD. Heavy participation from both the A and B corps year after year...B just won it's 4th title. A looking at #16 overall, 24th Ott, etc. So yeah....not buying Hop's line. Maybe...just maybe...letting the kids work on an I&E to show off their specific skills keeps them fresh. Can't really argue with the overall success.
