Pit yes...but not the field drums. Not the first time it's been done....07 BD comes to mind, and many other corps have done the same thing over the years. If it's effective, it's effective....I'd rather not hear a snare ramfest during a ballad, thanks, very much. I never want to hear a snare ram fest during a ballad. IMHO, Hymn of Acxiom was the musical strength of 2014 Bluecoats' entire performance. What came just before it was, for me, a disjointed non-transition from a gratuitous battery ram fest. Well, it's only one drop, and I think it's side one. That foot timing in the company front. Never seen anything like it.
