The Class A and Open Class portions of prelims have just wrapped up. In a few minutes, we'll get underway with World Class corps. In the meantime, we have our first batch of scores to report from the Class A corps. These are preliminary scores and are subject to change upon the release of the recaps later this evening.

Kaiju Corps is just happy to participate. We might not have the experience or the raw talent to really push for the win. But we are happy to have made Finals in Class A and then be able to perform in the Championships here.

The Marauders and Mercury both had very strong performances and could very well make things uncomfortable for more than a couple World Class groups. That tie between Spirit of Indy and Star of Hawaii could have some very interesting effects on who's able to advance to the next round.

Prelims day rehearsal is wrapping up at the Alpine Scouts base camp, as they prepare to head to the show site in their first championship. Spirits seemed to be pretty high from the members, who tirelessly did rep after rep on the practice field all through the morning.

"Its like the calm before the storm," commented the head drum major. "Everyone here knows that the game is on, and that we have to give our best tonight if we want to secure a decent spot in semifinals. We won't give up on a top 12 miracle until the scores are on the paper. I really don't think anyone will be disappointed though, as long as we have the best show of the season. These members have worked their hardest from day one, and have laid a great foundation for the future of the Alpine Scouts."

Corps members are gathering now to sing the corps song before hitting the showers. Good luck to all of today's participants!

Here is our next batch of scores. Pride of Salem looked very good this afternoon and have set a very high bar for the remaining corps to beat. At this point, it looks like it may be a long shot for any Open Class corps trying to push their way into finals.

Here's our next batch of updates. Things are starting to really look interesting at the top, as River City Regiment put on a masterful performance to vault to the top of the standings. Circle City Sound and Dark Knights are following closely behind, and then we have a bit of a drop-off to Euphony Empire and Pride of Salem who both did quite well tonight.

We've just posted the last batch of scores AND released the official recaps of prelims. Congratulations to The Knights for taking the top spot coming out of prelims and being the first (and only) corps to top 95 tonight! We also had a three-way tie for 3rd between River City Regiment, Buckeye Brass and Dewsbury Regulars and very close results among the top 12 corps in general, as less than a point separated The Knights from 12th place Dark Knights. Further back, Harmonic and The Royal Crusaders also found themselves knotted up in 18th place, Aftershock NZ slotted comfortably into 17th place to qualify for semis, Great Lakes Sound and Twilight Brigade were tied in 15th place, and Alpine Scouts became the final corps to advance to tomorrow night's semifinals.
