Cappybara
So much depends on the - ahem - audience. For many people I know, I would start out with SCV 2009 "Ballet For Martha". It contains some of everything good that is drum corps, although it isn't an extreme example of any one thing. It's just really good. It's an extreme example of synth use. That show is the worst offender of thunderous goo I've ever heard. Cadets 2010 comes a close 2nd. Sorry to be a Debbie downer there :)

I mean, the usual criticism of thunderous goo is that it covers the acoustic brass and percussion, which can hide problems in the acoustic performance, which many fans hate. Usually it's well done though, at least enough for 'muggles' to be ok with it.
