N.E. Brigand
Suncoast Sound . . . . . 1989 . . . " Florida Suite ". Since 1989 was when I saw drum corps perform, and also the first drum corps recording I had (found in 1991 in a second-hand shop: until that moment I didn't know there were drum corps recordings), this version is what I hear when I think of the Florida Suite. It was many years before I actually saw the show (on video) and some years after that until I saw and heard the 1985 version. I can intellectually acknowledge that the 1985 version is the superior performance, but it still feels like a copy of the 1989 show to me.
