Tony L.
Did I miss something or are they inactive now?
BlueStainGlass
You didn't miss anything and they are inactive. They ghosted and never said anything.
Tony L.
Thanks. That is very disappointing.
BlueStainGlass
IIRC they were looking for a new director after last season? Something bad had to happen from the last one that just dug the grave. Nobody I've talked to including people that were involved with the corps know.
KVG_DC
Yeah they just sort of went from one of the exciting small corps to..."poof". I get it's hard to find people willing to run an arts non-profit because it's really tough, but dang, it was like the whole thing just went into vaporware. I mean directors and admin that do day to day after seasons are paid. We've seen the books and how much corps directors make. Yeah it's open class but still have to make a decent amount. Ive taught/directed WGI for 10 years under a nonprofit and made $500 total and that was for writing drill for 2 seasons 🤣

I'm on my 3rd year of building props for my sons band and I think I'm actually in the hole $10K. It's a wild ride to be part of!

I made a drum payment because we leased to own and the group hadn't collected and dues yet to put towards it. At the end of the day I'm doing it for the kids and will do what's needed to get them there. I paid off 3 kids dues that couldn't afford to march this past season.

MBo1974
From what I was told, when the director resigned, the board really didn't make moves to sustain it.
