No West for the Wicked - Canyon Texas 7/17

Recommended Posts

My one live show this year!  And it’s two minutes from my house.

High of 100 degrees and winds between 6-16mph.  Fantastic intimate stadium, has been a huge enrichment to the marching band community to have this show here for the third year in a row.  Tons of local connections to Blue Knights and Troopers.

7:40pm - Guardians

7:57pm - Seattle Cascades

8:14pm - Pacific Crest

8:31pm - The Academy

8:48pm - Mandarins

9:05pm - Troopers

9:22pm - Blue Knights

9:39pm - Encore

9:47pm - Scores

Probably no play by play for me, but will make sure to post a review afterwards!

Nice!  I got my MBA from West Texas A&M and I have never actually been there.  One day I'll see what that campus looks like! 🙂

Great university with a fantastic band program (got my undergrad and masters here).  Top band performed at the CBDNA convention in Georgia this last winter and will perform at TMEA for the God knows how many times again in February.

PC practicing at Pampa High School about an hour outside of Canyon (unfortunately).  But in case you were thinking of going to see a couple of corps.

We consider that local in these parts 😜  Know all their band staff, they’re in great hands

Really unfortunate the school district in town said no to housing corps this year, was a pretty incredible experience watching my kids see drum corps for the first time live at the high school the last few years.  Nothing bad happened, they just turned it down this year 😕

That does suck.  I just don't get why schools wouldn't want to support it, especially as it just helps your school and students also!

Enjoy the show brother! Great lineup!

That looks like a show the Mandarins will win.  When is the last time the Mandarins took home a show title?  I get that this is somewhat the quirk of the schedule that none of the 'big 4' are assigned there, but a win is a win.

They won this one last year by a pretty big chunk over BK.
