kevingamin
As the homecoming court dances, the brass serenade them with “If you love me, won’t you say something?”
kevingamin
Last call. Thanks for the memories, and a great homecoming. Drum line comes out from behind the stage back on their instruments for a feature.
kevingamin
Unlike their August 19th performance, the drums now have drill and, when they finish, the horns come in for the closer.
kevingamin
Drum set player was going off for that part of the show! Reprise of the ballad melody as the corps builds into the finish of their show.

kevingamin
Next on the field in DCA A Class competition is the Govenaires from St. Peter, Minnesota. Their 2023 program is entitled “Paparazzi”. No repertoire was available on DCX Museum.

kevingamin
Govies having fun right out f the gate. John Mayer is walking around with a camera prop pretending to take pictures of the audience, then takes pictures of the three guard members who come foward in full Audrey Hepburn style outfits and glasses. John then does his classic introduction of the corps, though he does do the “IN THE WORLD” portion into a mic to give it the required gravitas. The opener is pretty fast paced and fun, very Italian, as befitting a show about Paparazzi. An excellent trumpet soloists finishes out the song before she starts taking “photos”. kevingamin
In the second movement, the actual song Paparazzi, the trumpets play muted while a baritone soloist is supported by the rest of the horn line midfield. The drums come in from the back field props as a guard member in a dress poses as if her phots are getting taken.
