TenorsForWorldDomination
We always referred to the set as "tenors" (never quads or quints) and the 6 inch drum as the "gok" drum. I marched on the East Coast starting in 87 and everyone had them. I never heard the term "spock" drum until years later. Same here. I've always known them as "gok", and then started hearing "shot" drum later on. As for the name of the actual instrument I've always referred to them as "tenors" or "multi-tenors". zayrichard
Yeah same here. Tenors and Gok. Never heard of other terms much but when my line got a new tech I heard shot once and a while.
pearlsnaredrummer77
In the mid-80s a Senior corps The Ohio Brass Factory used the triple set-up with two goks on top. I got to hack on them a bit as one of my friends was in that line. I much preferred the quad set-up with the single gok in the middle that I was using in GBV. DAvery
We used quints in cavies in 78-79. Didn't Spirit march 7 drum tenors in 78?
Jim Nevermann
Didn't Spirit march 7 drum tenors in 78? They did indeed. I can only dimly imagine what they were like to pick-up... let alone carry at practice!
