Orpheus
Strawberry Soup..Crossmen 2002, Blue Devils and Scouts 1993Land of Make Believe..Too many to mention them all I don't know if those count as having been "lost in the shuffle." - B) - Neither do "When a Man Loves a Woman," the Cadets' "Les Mis," or anytime the Cavaliers played "The Planets." - - I was really trying to spur discussion about charts that you love but nobody else ever mentions. hehe ... I think there've been whole threads about "Strawberry Soup," "Les Mis," and "Medea"! Here's another, tho -- how about BK's 1993 arrangement of "Battle in the Mutara Nebula"? The show as a whole totally didn't work for me, but I really dig that one piece. Someone also mentioned Pioneer's ballad from '99, "Magh Seola" -- I remember listening to that Boston Pops CD and thinking to myself, "this would make a great ballad for Pioneer." Then a few months later, what do you know? - LOL - Terrific piece. The Troopers' 1990 show "Music for the Centennial of the State of Wyoming" featured some really cool arranging. And I totally agree with what someone said about Star '87. Close your eyes and just listen to the brass charts from that show, and how well the line plays them. Try to forget about the jugglers and the pink elephants, if you have to. It's great stuff. Shades of things to come, even. mr.mello
How about "Hear ye! Hear ye!" by Copland which SCV played in '98. It rocks my socks off each time I hear it. I've gone nearly insane trying to find the normal version. Anyone out there know what album I can find it on?

OrlandoContraAlum
2) Garfield Cadets: Elk's Parade (1981)8) Suncoast Sound: Time Out (1983) 14) Madison Scouts: Waltz of the Mushroom Hunters (1984) 15) Phantom Regiment: Claire de Lune (1994) 29) Blue Devils: Dindi (1981) 31) Freelancers: With You I'm Born Again (1984) 39) Florida Wave: Fool On The Hill (1987) Great calls Chuck, no argument from me, but I would add... Canzona - Cavies 86 Opener - In your face from the first note, and the build to the end is pure energy Overture from Colas Breugnon - Madison 83 Opener - VERY cool! (and goes right into my personal favorite version of Strawberry Soup) Niner-Two - 27 1982 Production - I've heard it from other corps since, but this is still my favorite Blues in the Night - 1984 Spirit Production - One word - Hunter Vide cor Meum - Cadets 2001 Ballad - Just gives me chills That's all for now, but I am sure there are many more...
