maestrowest Posted August 3, 2004 Share Posted August 3, 2004 I was only able to march one year of junior corps before entering the Navy. Since I have been in the military, I have wondered many times what my life would be like today if I had decided to march those three remaining years. But, I had no money for college and did not want to be struggling to pay the bills. Each time I do think about it, I always come to the same conclusion: I do not regret my choices and would not change anything. Since I have been in senior corps these last two seasons, it means a lot more to me than junior corps did, because I honestly never thought I would have the opportunity to march in a drum corps again. ffernbus3 Posted August 3, 2004 Share Posted August 3, 2004 Steve: during my last jr. corps year with The Anaheim Kingsmen in 1967, we had a bunch of active duty players both in the line and, in Rocco's case, instructing. Mostly Marines, but a couple of Navy guys who were ex-Royal Airs: Jim and Larry Horn. How those guys made all those rehearsals and gigs I'll will never know...and little did I know I would be in the Army by the end of that year myself! My friend, I salute you! There were just too many guard lovelies in our competitors to have passed them up! We ended up breaking up 8 months after 78 DCI anyway!
