tommytimp
SCV did take 2nd in M&M in prelims that year, which is not surprising, seeing how good they look, and how innovative the second half of the show is drill-wise.

CrunchyTenor
Thanks Mr. Scuz....So BD came in 6th in drums???!!! Spanked!!!!! Just curious.... Was that the year Robbie Robinson marched BD or was it 81? Either way, Crossmen still finished higher in drums. Garry in Vegas
CrunchyTenor
P.P.P.S. By the way, those two drums on the end of the line in the pciture have been refurbished (we still have them!!) and we're using them in CAC888 along with ten other refurbished, rewrapped Dynasonics and 10 refurbished, identically rewrapped Slingerland TDRs. They will all look just like the two end drums. Are the refurbished Dynasonics fitted with the TDR lug casings? Because the originals had a different kind, of course. BDCorno
Thanks Mr. Scuz....So BD came in 6th in drums???!!! Spanked!!!!! Just curious.... Yup. It was fortunate the brass line spanked 27 and the Bridgemen, otherwise it'd have been a different story... Gotta say though, '80 was the year of the drum solo - Bayonne, SCV, Spirit in particular. GuyW
Didn't Mike actually march as an Albacore before the name change?Garry in Vegas Well....yeah....maybe....technically.....if ya wanta get legalistic about it... ...most of us dislike(d) that name so much we never use it unless under verifiable threat of torture... ...several Anaheim Kingsmen originated in Pacific Beach, CA back in the day.... Paul Milano
Are the refurbished Dynasonics fitted with the TDR lug casings? Because the originals had a different kind, of course.Garry in Vegas No, the Dynasonics are not fitted with TDR lugs. The refurbished drums you're looking at are the TDRs, wrapped to look like the Dynasonics. We have not yet rewrapped the Dynasonics. We are currently polishing and refurbishing the hardware. They should all be ready by next summer, if not sooner.
