Ahhh....Steve Sanger (right)...funny guy, great instructor in 84.

Is that the drum trophy in front of them?? They didn't win drums in 82...Bridgemen did.

Is that Mike Anderson on the left?

Alberta All Girls at the rodeo 1974. This may be the Senior corps but most likely the Junior corps based on the DM and guard. From 1974-1977 both corps had the same uniform. It's hard to tell the difference from a distance

Last weekend, alumni of the 1981 Louisiana Southernaires celebrated the 30th anniversary of our winning the DCI Class A Championship.

This is our US Open group pic.

And those of us who were able to make the reunion.

One of us came from as far as Australia to attend.

How the Southernaires formed and won Class in a four month period still amazes me. I wrote about it here. Today in 1981 - The DCI Class A Finals

A confusing message in Montreal. Just imagine what Hutch could have done with Raiders money?

Sam - the original DCI championship trophy was a Slingerland TDR-100 Snare drum - without the strainer. The big DCI trophy was passed around, while the snare drum was kept by the corps. But.....that photo shows a smaller DCI trophy which looks like a replica of the big one looks like it has a Ludwig logo on the front. So....not sure what that Slingerland drum signifies?

Only in Joisey - a contest field next to a gas works.

Well, at least there's green grass.

Must have been a very tall drummer because the sling didn't go long enough for him to look like the others.
