MikeD
Come to think of it, '62 is probably the year that MY uniform was new as well! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I even knew who wore mine back then, as the guy, Jerry Chirichella, was a helper...his two young brothers Steve (snare) and Richie (DM) were in the corps in my day. Richie broke his leg in a Cadet/Muchacho football game after the season (71?). He was doing great unitl one day he threw a blood clot and died instantly. He was laid out in uniform, shako, gloves and conductor's baton on top of the casket. We all filed in and sang the Holy Name song to him one more time. Probably the saddest moment of my life...still gives me the chills remembering us trying to sing with the tears streaming down our faces. Richie used a conductor's baton as far back as 69. He was a VERY classy guy, one of the best DM's I've ever seen on and esp off the field. Mike
Jd83
Although we placed 4th in '83, I'm very proud of what we did accomplish. What a great group of people we had. This is the end of the opener. On the front sideline, I'm the second horn player from the right. Edited April 16, 2005 by Jd83
