There is also Drum Corps Germany growing.

Jubal and Beatrix are competing in DCE, but till now DCE is not the head organisation off all Eurpean organisations. But the people who do DCE are very good and it looks good for Drum Corps here in the old world.

Any questions, feel free to ask.

I've been surfing the web for International news in the last few months.  So far, I've found...

Don't forget KNFM (Royal Dutch Federation of Musical organizations) at www.knfm.nl

They host combined drumcorps & showband competitions and took over the defunct Drum Corps Holland end of the 1990's

To correct you, they took it over in 2000, 1999 was the last DCH championship :P

KNFM is not very active anymore (1 contest this year, and not a championship)

Wasn't Drum Corps Germany/Deutschland already established? When I was in Germany teaching in 1986-88 it was already doing well.

The British Youth Band Association also features drum corps during their competitions. Some corps are members of both DCUK and BYBA.

Wrong, they took over in 1995/1996 splitting Drum Corps Holland in Drum Corps Holland (DCH) and Color Guard Nederland (CGN). They kept using the DCH name till 1999 and continued doing their own Championships till 2002. In 2003 there was a National Show Championship with drumcorps & traditional corps from all major leagues all over The Netherlands. In 2004 that Championship was combined with the DCE Finals.

You are wrong about just 1 contest. There are more. Fact that none of the Drum Corps registered doesn't mean there is no contest...

You are right ther was an organisation called Drum Corps Deutschland in your time. This organisation went inactive in the early 90s.

In late autuum 2001 a group of DC people brought all active marching corps to the table and founded Drum Corps Germany. 2002 was our first official season with contests and finals. Since then Drum Corps is growing in Germany. We are still small especially in members on the field, but the people work with heart and passion. We are all-age and some corps has members service their 25 season on the field in a row.

We hope DC in Germany will grow and become mor known than in previous years.
