77kingsmensnare
BD used DC-10s when I marched. I used to have a pair. The originals were #### near indestructible!!! Float would whack a pair together to keep time. They were chewed up all to ####, but they never broke!I've fooled around with some really li8ght sticks made on a lathe...forgot what they were modelled after. I suspect on a drum they'd sound something like the untaped wood sticks Cavies at some point in a show in the 90s. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> When I marched in Kingsmen we used pro mark densi wood sticks, we would cut off about an inch and a half from the back of the stick....them things was heavy! They are still being produced by ProMark !
sticksbrown
Like like the rebound action of R. Hardimon's and the fact they are painted white. However, for stick tossing and back-sticking S. Johnson's are better balanced. It all depends on the book you're playing. If you need speed, Ralph's. If you need stick trick control/balance Scotty's. Scott's stick can take many more rim shots than Ralph's though. Sticksbrown.........Renegade Snare

I am a bigger fan of the IP sticks, particularly the former Colin McNutt stick (forget the new model number). I actually like the fact that it's not painted. I think I can get a better grip on the wood itself.

Lunchb0x
wow, im surprised no one is into the Aungsts....theyre good sticks, i like the length and taper the most, i wish the bead was a little rounder, but theyre balanced really good for playing long rolls and slammin out singles at big heights.
