JKatzmellophone
Is the corps actually in pheonix? or one of the suburbs? Or is it in Alabama and I'm mispelling pheonix as it should be phenix as in phenix city alabama.Flagstaff rebels Temple worshippers Or a little redundancy Pheonix firebirds Sand Storm Tumbleweeds Pheonix Corps Dry Lake Night Heat - might be good. Since you're likely to rehearse at night as opposed to 2pm in the sun. Sun Stroke Fried Green Tomatoes Southern Fried Blistering Sidewalks Big A/C Cool Heat The possibilities are endless. Unlike most corps hailing from that region. How about just "Pheonix" and use a picture of the firebird as your logo

Unlike most corps hailing from that region. The people signed on to the MC so far are, for the most part, from Phoenix and the surrounding area. We've got a couple of out-of-towners (Denver and Indianapolis) but the rest are local. I've been hoping to find a name that had some sort of musical connotation, as opposed to a name that might apply to a youth soccer team. Considering the lack of specific longitude and latitude coordinates that identify home, I'd like to be From South of Nowhere (there is a place called Nowhere, AZ., population 0, that is northwest of the PHX metropolitan area). Ideally, a creative, somewhat funny moniker would be nice. Ay-yah-yah...this name thing isn't easy. All suggestions appreciated! Let's name the dam thing and get on with it. nobody really cares about a name, just the quality of what the group puts out, and man this group better be good with all the BS about a name. Drumcorpsbrat
Don't they have Sidewinders in Arizona? I might be wrong. They are an intimidating creature and it might be a cool name. Also, maybe look up Indian Tribes of Arizona. You might find something neat in a listing of them. Being part Mohegan and Cherokee I am partial to finding a Native American name... or even Desert Storm (yikes...going for cover) Edited November 21, 2005 by Drumcorpsbrat
