Mark your calendars! “SoCal Dream” has announced the date and location of their open house and you are invited!!!

SoCal Dream is one of the fastest growing senior corps in the country, and we have some big plans for the 2006 season, including putting the best show we have ever had on the field; a new world-class staff; and our return to competition at the 2006 DCA World Championships in New York. SoCal Dream is also scheduled to perform at DCI shows throughout Northern and Southern California. Our low membership dues make SoCal Dream one of the most economical drum corps in the country to join, and we plan to field nearly 100 members this season -- the largest corps in our brief history!

Open house is scheduled for Sunday, December 4th 2005 from 11:00am – 2:00pm. This will be held at Gabrielino High School. The school address is 1327 South San Gabriel Blvd, San Gabriel CA 91776. Here is a map to find your way:

If you are a horn player and have a G bugle, bring it with you. If not, bring a mouthpiece. Percussionists, bring sticks. Anyone interested in color guard should wear comfortable clothes and bring a flag or weapon if you have one.

This is going to be a great afternoon. Please let me know if you have any questions, and thanks again for your interest in joining the 2006 SoCal Dream.

You would have thunk it....just as what transpired up north after 7 people and a ham sandwich turning into a major powerhouse is repeating itself down south. There sure seems to be a nice upswing to the momentum (as I predicted) for Dream. It helps that there have been two VERY well-received public appearences by the hornline that have performed at area marching band contests. To me, it's gutsy for a senior corps to do that--it's off season, people don't "know" what senior corps is, etc, etc. Lots of stuff that seems against it. But Dream went for it--and well, they're doing things right. GETTING THE NAME OUT THERE!! There is a real sense of ownership and pride to this corps as evidence by these performances! BRAVO BRAVO BRAVO!!

So, who knows who may show up at our Open House...southern California is home to MANY MANY MANY people who used to do corps.

ARE YOU ONE OF THEM?

Come on down and Dream a little...

The long-term mission here is to make the West Coast senior corps circuit at least as strong as the East Coast.

But with more beer. :P
