Even if the rest of the hornline is churning out the volume, a slightly quieter mello section with moving parts will still draw the ear - assuming the section numbers balance with the rest of the hornline. It isn't the volume of the mello section that's impressive, it's the frantic motion. I'm a contra player, but the mellos have the coolest parts.
