84BDsop
Although I never met him (because 83 was the last year he was director), he was still a part of the BD organization... Jerry Seawright.
MiamiSun76
In addition to my closest friend and my daughter's Godfather, Ted Heumann with whom I both marched and taught, our motley crew from the late 70s Belleville Black Knights staff has lost far too many far too soon: Ted Mike Melvin George Tuthill Eric Haney Also Ray Baumgart, who was there immediately prior to us. apoch003
Ah... you can claim that you lost Tuthill (we all did), but he was with MY corps when he died. We lost our 80's drum major (Mike Dietz) to a drug induced suicide jump off a tall bridge here in Portland. We didn't lose, but probably should have, one of our finest horn players, in a car accident that left him mentally disabled. :( Edited May 3, 2006 by apoch003

RobH
There have been plenty - and I'm reminded of whoever wrote the line "every man's death diminishes me" - it is so important to remember and HONOR those who have "slipped the surly bonds of earth" - every day of our remaining lives!
