JimF-LowBari
Wow. Intro solo to Pagliacci... now THAT is a Soprano player! Those videos are cool Cabs. Keep 'em coming! And Pagliacci was the song that finally knocked out Flamingo as Cabs after concert number. Think Flamingo was played since 1960..... Anyone else remember the old Rice Krispies commercial during this time that used Pagliacci. "No more Rice Krispies. We are out of Rice Krispies. No more snap.. crackle... pop". We used to sing it to ourselves when the Cabs were playing this on the field. ^0^ (don;t worry, they still waxed our sorry butts. :P )
Cabstuba04
Perhaps a veteran of the Cabs organization could answer this...It appears that some of the horn players in the '77 video have a white sash hanging over their left shoulders, or just a piece of white material hanging down over their red sash. What is the significance of that? Those are capes folded in half. We used them during the drum solo for a little GE.Won GE but lost the show. I think the margin of victory was 1/2 tenth. That still stings a little LOL Mike Ryan Cabs 1975-2006
overthehillDM
Not quite sure how I am supposed to be productive at work when I have this show on my laptop :) I love Chico and The Man. And Pagliacci. Anyone see that Seinfeld where George and Kramer are standing out in front of a theater trying to scalp tickets to Pagliacci. Classic. "Who wants Pagliacci, I got two for Pagliacci" :)Eric Watters Atlanta, Ga. :lolhit: That was a great episode!!! Chico and The Man is one of my ALL-TIME FAVORITE songs!!! Both the original, by Jose' Feliciano, and the CAB'S version that was played way back when I was still in high school! I've ALWAYS wanted to play Cab's version of "Chico" on the field, it was such a fun, and upbeat drum corps tune! Of course, I AM crazy about Pagliacci, also. Larry K wrote two different arrangements of that back in '77. one for Cabs, and one for Bridgemen. I believe he did the same thing again this past year for the respective alumni corps. We used the full version for our 2005 mini corps, and Rob Hunter was absolutely PHENOMENAL on the screaming soprano solo!!!
