Great review! Needed a break at work so I read it and was dying laughing through half of it--but it really helped with a clear picture of what it was like to be there! Maybe more people shoudl write reviews with fast raw thoughts! LOL Thanks!

Ryan,

I always enjoy reading your reviews.

With you, I know I can hear how the guards are doing. Thanks.

Will you be coming up this weekend for the Concord and Stockton shows?

If you do, I think you will enjoy BDC this year. They had the weekend off.

(Their last score was a 47.75 and they only practice Monday and Thurs. nights)

Hope to meet you one day. (I'll have Key point you out to me. :P )

"Esperanza

I think that Esperanza, who hails from an area of EXTREME musical talent, needs something to give their region a kick in the ### and get more kids out. There appeared to be holes galore in the hornline, and I was really sad to see that. Esperanza has a LOT to offer to the youth of the San Diego area--wish more people would realize that. Their show, Chakra (which reminds me--was marketed REALLY well--cool preseason video), was interesting although I must say without my notes I'm not sure there's much else to say. STRONG guard as usual, but everything seemed smaller and more subdued this year than in years past. I hope for the best for Esperanza and for their future--and I think if I had my notes I could be a little more "comprehensive" with my review."

Walking the parking lot after the shows, I'm hearing they have ~ 10 holes filled with new kids. It'll be interesting to see how that works out visually and musically in the next week!

And Ryan's right - where are all those San Diego kids who should be out onthe field?

Hey Ryan, just another quick thanks for your review.

I heard you up in the box announcing the shows this weekend. Sorry I didn't come up to say hi, but after working on Miss Amana both days, well...I stank! b**bs

Thanks for the kind words for the Dream Drumline. The Walnut show was probably our most confident of the whole weekend. I can't wait for NorCal
