  1. SCV changed the ending....Huge French Flag- big Fleur de leis flags across the front.
  2. First time I will be attending the San Antonio Show... All packed and ready to fly out! Can not wait to see all Corps. Heading to Indy too. Good Luck to my beloved SCV!
  3. My first choice... Invesco, Denver Love Camp Randell.. but the seats (number seating on a bench) are too small, made for skinny collage kids. I've always had a 'more full figured' person sitting next to me and was squeezed the entire show. Fix the seats and this would be number one for me.
  4. Way to go! Congrats to the members of the 2008 Santa Clara Vanguard Cadets
  5. I could be wrong but it sure looks like SCVs beloved Fred Stanford, especially in the shot with Spirit. In some of the other shots 'he' is hovering around the drumlines
  6. Wow, you were busy. Thanks for the quick shot of SCVs plates doing their 'Viper' move. I am sad not to see the golden 'V' move from the plates at the end of SCVs show this year. I know the SCV Cadets have it at the end of their show.
  7. Well... I would really have to take a big guess and say... toward the end of the "real show". I personally, don't watch the clips. Stanford is a BIG show for both BD and SCV ... shows should be complete... but as we all know, will look different by Indi.
  8. Ditto! I vividly remember 'the Scouts 'Iwo Jima' pose. I've seen the others mention above, but '76 Scouts would be my choice!
  9. The staff is still tweaking the ending of show. They want it near the end of the show and don't want it during a specific rifle toss in the opener where they fear people might prematurely place it. ...hope to see some of you at the Stanford show this Saturday!
  10. The talk around the old water cooler with the SCV alumni.... SCV Cadets are using/wearing 'green feathers' .....
  11. I aged out in 1982. My SCV corps jacket still fits, I wore it to Pasadena. I was 13, 1974, marching SCV 'B' corps when I got my jacket. The design was sewn using the 'chain loop' instead of a 'back and forth' stitching.
  12. " "Never to be seen again?" ... Do you know something I don't know? :( We, the SCV Alumni Guard, performed it 2002 at local shows and at DCI Madison.
  13. Well you asked.... I have 3 sons. Two of my boys not 5 minutes ago started to play Halo 2. Well the music from Halo puts thoughts of Drum Corps into my head every time, why?... I couldn't tell you.
  14. "QUOTE(scv guy @ Aug 24 2007, 11:53 PM) "I will never forget that night. Man, the crowd went ballistic. Couldn't hear myself playing it was so loud. You see, the guard did not do the Bottle Dance all year. We had this ending from Tchaikovsky's 4th we did all year long. And then GR had an idea to pull off the Bottle Dance at finals. We practiced secretly. Horns in our rooms playing into pillows. The guard in the hotel meeting room practicing. We did a single rehearsal of it and then pulled it out at finals. Deafening screams from the Birmingham crowd which was HUGE. That moment made my 3rd place finish a bit easier to take." Boy, that brings back a few memories... For two nights Lenny had us up at 0300 am to practice in the banquet room of the hotel we were staying in. The dance was going to be Secret Squirrel stuff... (SCV stayed in hotels for DCI week back then. 1983 forward, school gyms for DCI week.) We were in our P.Js and White Boots and half asleep.
  15. George, Number 5. ...East Coast, Rain, SCV , for 'saftey reasons' were taken off the field and were not only Booed but had 'stuff' thrown at them. (I'm thinking it was a JW year) Did you attend Stanford Show? Any thoughts on the Nor Cal Fans? Or are you just including all of us as West Coast Fans from Denver...West, next to me were fans from South Carolina and Florida, guess they are West Coast Fans too? Well... thanks for visiting anyway.
  16. Not Pasadena, but at Stanford, Steve Young was up in the Box area for the show.
  17. No, I did not attend. It was the start time for me. After going out the night before... well, I slept in. Also my son and I did sight seeing during the day and Div. I at night. I did attend Div. II/III last year, so for me having it in the same venue was a plus. Although I don't believe the Rose Bowl would have been a good stadium for the Div II/III this year.
  18. Cymbal lines.... lots and lots of cymbal lines... There is no need for extra busses. Todays charter busses hold more seats then the old days/ old busses. No more... 'two seats to yourself' :P
  19. Ahh.... Congrats SCV on a GREAT show last night! Lots of admiration and support from your fans and Alumni. 40 years of SCV Tradition are right there with you. Good Luck Santa Clara Vanguard!
  20. The Rose Bowl is bad. It should have been Stanford. Now that is the best stadium for sound. I was way up in a box and I could hear the young horns of Blue Devils C corps just fine. I've heard from those who attended the Tour of Champions at the Rose Bowl in 2004 that this was not a place for DCI.
  21. I was sitting in Sec. 19.... SCV Block, no booing that I could hear. I did see a sign a few sections over that read "GOT HASH MARKS?" That was about it. The Cadets were great last night, all the best to the 2007 Corps.
