MikeBob
Well, the show was called "five" :P Yeah, I know. I'm just sayin' we had a different product written. And I'd still like to see someone do that show. No, wait -- I'd like to see someone ask me to write that show. There.
boilerman_05
Esperanza put that on the field, 2004 I believe.Man, I need to hear that show! I don't know why I haven't bought the '04 CDs yet.
Decals
i swear to god i posted in this same thread a week ago lol...anyways..i would love to hear somebody commision a 11 minute work from eric whitacre for the field. the man can do every friggin' thing else amazingly, so i would assume he could write something unbelievably incredible.. The man is a freakin genius. However, I think I'm right in saying that he had a bad experience as a trumpet player in a marching band. I think they told him he was "impossible" or something. So he might not be too keen.

MikeBob
Man, I need to hear that show! I don't know why I haven't bought the '04 CDs yet. Their full program that year: Heroes Symphony Mvt I (Glass!) 1000 Airplanes on the Roof (Glass!) October Song of Aeolus Five (original piece, I believe) Although I'm positive their opener was 1000 Airplanes....
boilerman_05
Yeah, I remember hearing about the show in the spring of '04, but being on tour all summer I never got to see them, and I haven't gotten around to buying the DVD or CD's yet. Do they sell DVDs of Quarterfinals?
Matt_S
I've got the CD. Would be nice to have on DVD as well. I also really liked Esperanza's 2003 show, they used Gorecki's Harpsichord Concerto that year. Fortunately, that's something they did make a DVD of, though unfortunately it only offers multi-cam. boilerman_05
I don't know if you can still get them, but at one time you could get individual performances of all corps at finals. edit: just looked it up, they should be on the 13-24 DVD for 2004.
