I just wanna see what people would think of this or if it would ever happen. I dont play reed instruments, only brass and drums for me.... just thought this would be something interesting. I mean come on, amps on the field!!??!?!:worthy::blink:

Thing is, there has to be a market for it.

Where does that market come from? B)

you wouldn't hear anything, that's why they use brass, you can hear them from more than 10 feet away. :P. There would be more all female corps too. ^0^

Woodwinds don't have the same kind of appealing sound as brass instruments do.

*shrug* Everything sounds great if played well, IMO.

Not that I endorse the idea. I'm just sayin'.

True. But short of microphones for every WW marcher, brass instruments just project better outside.

If this hypothetical woodwind & drum corps was inside (and it would reallly have to be, pad replacement and associated costs for an "outside woodwind line" would be outrageous), then perhaps it might be something to consider.

Never, ever thought about it. Now that I did, it doesn't sound like a good idea at all.

Oh, I totally agree. I don't think it's feasible unless it were some kind of WGI-like indoor thing -- but even if that made it feasible, I don't think it'd be advisable.
