DCIcharlie
I think it would be a great idea if one year in the near future every corps goes back to its roots and plays songs that they are or were once famous for playing. To make it better they could even bring back old uniforms. Here are some suggestions for what some shows could be: The Cavaliers: Bully, Battle Hymn of the Republic, Summertime (Porgy and Bess), Somewhere Over the Rainbow Blue Devils: Channel One Suite, Spanish Fantasy, Ya Gotta Try, Conquistador Phantom Regiment:Scythian Suite, Bacchanale, Shostakovich: Fifth Symphony, Fourth Movement Madison Scouts: Malaguena, Malaga, Slaughter on 10th Avenue, Strawberry Soup The Cadets: Rocky Point Holiday, Maria (West Side Story), Overture to Candide Santa Clara Vanguard: Fiddler on the Roof Bluecoats: Autumn Leaves, Caravan, ? Boston Crusaders: Bolero, El Capitan, Ninth Symphony (Ode to Joy), Conquest Spirit: Georgia on My Mind, Old Man River, Sweet Georgia Brown As for the "newer" corps that aren't really known for anything... maybe they could play old drum corps favorites from other corps. madcontra99
Thats a novel idea, too bad everyone has to be "innovative" Considering innovation of the 21st century are things that BOA and WGI have been doing for decades, drum corps are simply doing these things at a higher level so they are for some worthless reason considered "innovative"

geluf
Bringing back old uniforms may be too costly for some corps.
Jocko the Wonder Llama
Would this include having the kids do high mark-time?? (That should be...........interresting?)
jake_the_hydra
Drum corps is where it is now for a reason. I would be pretty ###### if I had paid money in 2006 to see 1970's drum corps instead of the ridiculously better 2006 edition. Just mho . . . jake_the_hydra
And 90 % of the old uniforms are hideous. Cavaliers today compared to Cavaliers of thirty or so years ago? It doesn't even compare. Same with most corps. Now they look sleek, stunning, and powerful. They used to look kind of ridiculous.
