J.C.
Racine, and Chicago or Milwaukee. We're working on it. Edited August 28, 2006 by J.C.
CSGreen
Well, I am all for stretching DCA-C through the center of the country... KS, MO, OK, TX, LA, TN. Of course, 2 show weekends makes Frontier able to be a charter member of DCA-C and really makes our membership worth it. We are working on moving our home show to June, to make it more appealing as an out of town trip for other corps, and working on a 2nd show sponsor in Austin, which would make a nice 2 show weekend, only 3 hours apart. Plus Dallas is a cheap airport And June in TX is a WORLD OF DIFFERENCE from August in TX
patblamo
The St. Peter and South St. Paul shows were perfect for us (Frontier). I would love to go have TWO weekends with two shows each but I think it is going to be really difficult to put on a show in a location without a local corps. New shows require a lot of local friends and families to build the initial crowd following. Memphis is the perfect location to get the the northern and southern DCA-C corps (and maybe 1 or 2 NE visitors) together but the second show seems difficult to nail down. Browniebrick
How about a Nashville and Memphis combo for one weekend (Late July/Early August), and a Indy Pre-DCA East Championship weekend in Mid-August. By the way, it might make sense to piggy-back with DCI in holding a non-East coast DCA championship in Indy for the next decade as well. The synergy of DCI would make it much easier to get a DCA Central/South championship off the ground and build for a brighter future. Why build a new wheel when an existing one is already available. Galen
Grand Haven, MI. Up until a couple years ago there was a Div II/III show at the Coast Guard Festival. Huge festival, fun parade and a town familiar with drum corps and hungry to get a show back. Not to mention miles and miles of some of the best beaches in the country!!! On that note, why not have a show in Marion OH and resurrect the US Open? :)
audiodb
All of the above - have shows every weekend next season. Seriously, though, my first instinct was Racine and northern Illinois - just as practical for the corps that did MN this year, and we have a host corps for one of the shows. Reed
We are hosting the DCA South Championships in Nashville next year. Also, there has been talk of a show in Louisville, KY. Possibly the same weekend, but who knows...
