Dale Bari
huh?huh? maybe? Well, only taking the last weekend's shows, the unweighted, unaveraged, unfiltered, unalloyed rankings look like this: Guard 26-Aug Bush 18.9 Bucs 18.6 Cabs 18.4 Hurcs 18.2 Empire 17.9 Brigs 16.4 Gold 16.2 Sun 15.8 Cru 15.4 Sky 15.0 Sabers 13.2 Perc 26-Aug Bucs 38.5 Empire 38.1 Cabs 36.8 Bush 35.6 Brigs 35.4 Gold 34.3 Cru 32.8 Hurcs 32.6 Sabers 32.1 Sun 29.6 Sky 28.6 Brass 26-Aug Bucs 38.1 Bush 38.1 Empire 37.8 Cabs 37.8 Brigs 36.2 Gold 34.4 Hurcs 33.4 Cru 31.2 Sky 31.2 Sabers 30.5 Sun 30.5 Drill 26-Aug (Field Visual and Ensemble Visual Scores added together) Bucs 37.7 Empire 37.3 Cabs 36.4 Bush 36.3 Brigs 36.0 Gold 33.6 Hurcs 33.5 Cru 32.3 Sky 31.0 Sun 30.8 Sabers 30.0 GE 26-Aug Empire 38.1 Bucs 38.1 Bush 37.5 Cabs 37.3 Brigs 36.0 Hurcs 34.1 Gold 33.9 Sun 30.8 Cru 30.4 Sky 30.0 Sabers 28.9 Edited August 28, 2006 by Dale Bari

It seems that every corps in the Reading show received a lower Colorguard score than they did the prior week. But, I post it here for all to see, equal with everything else. Take it for what it's worth. But, I don't claim that it is indicative of anything other than one judge's opinion on one night.

Different judges give different scores, and there is no way to directly compare corps (or captions). We'll all know in a few days...

Wow, that's a lot of calculations, thanks though it was very interesting.
MikeM
OK...numbers are crunched. Sorry, no numbers for Renegades or SCD, and some DCI judged shows are missing for midwest corps, as I tried to be as fair as I could and just use DCA -run shows. Plus, 'gades haven't had a show since July, so there's some unfairness involved. Now, how do you want these presented? I used Musumeche's formula for DCI: 4 shows: .5, .25, .15, .1 3 Shows: .5, .25, .25 2 shows: .5, .5 What does this mean: Lets take Cabs last 4 Field Visual Technique scores: West Haven: 93 * .5 = 46.5 Scranton: 91 * .25 = 22.75 Kingston: 91 * .15 = 13.65 Syracuse: 87 * .1 = 8.7 Add the above and you get Cabs weighted score for Field Visual Tech: 91.6 You do this for every sub caption, and crunch the subs like you normally would. I have all this in a nice large excel sheet...so I can post what you want without much issue. Let me know. :)
TrishDish1002
Not only week to week, but show to show this past weekend, the guard scores were SIGNIFICANTLY lower in Reading than West Haven. I'm rooting for one particular guard to take it all, but I'm not jinxing anyone! hehe! Good luck to all! Here's to a wind-free night :) I would caution against anyone looking at a cross-show comparison in this caption. MikeM
Weighted Scores: Bucs - 92.974 Empire - 92.764 Bush - 91.576 Cabs - 91.206 MBI - 89.244 Brigs - 87.200 Carolina Gold - 77.150 Corps Vets - 78.522 Hurcs - 83.422 Cru - 76.063 Sky - 75.636 Kilts - 79.628 Sun - 72.633 MCL - 71.403 Frontier - 70.438 Govies - 77.056 Chops - 75.488 Alliance - 73.450 (Unweighted, only one score) White Sabers - 71.907 Lakeshoremen - 69.550 Gulf Coast Sound - 67.613 (Unweighted, only one score) Like I said, I don't have accurate scores for the west coast corps, because I can't get recaps. An observation: Whoever judged the South St. Paul show on Sun August 20 obviously didn't like stuff. There were some very wild fluctuations in the subcaptions that just don't make sense. High Captions: (unweighted) Visual Composite: Bucs 28.15 (8/26) Music Composite: Bucs 28.725 (8/26) Effect Composite: Bucs and Empire 38.10 (8/26) High Subcaptions: Color Guard: Bush 18.9 (8/26) Percussion: Bucs 38.5 (8/26) Brass: Bucs and Bush 38.1 (8/26) I'm not going sub by sub....:P If you want to see the spreadsheet drop me a PM with your e-mail address.
